NoBlink helps families and care providers know when an older person falls at home. To do that we handle personal data, some of it sensitive. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
In this policy, “NoBlink”, “we” and “us” mean the company that operates the NoBlink website at noblink.ai, the NoBlink sensors and the NoBlink app. “You” means anyone who uses our website, app or service, including family members, caregivers, senior living staff and the person whose home is protected.
The short version
- Our sensors use radar. They do not have cameras, and they never capture images or video of anyone.
- We use your data to detect falls, send alerts, run the app and support you. We do not sell personal data.
- Service data is stored on Google Cloud in India.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent, by writing to info@noblink.ai.
1. What we collect
From the sensors in a protected home
- Presence, movement and position readings, such as whether a person is in a room, moving or still.
- Events we detect, such as a possible fall, a long period of stillness, or getting out of bed.
- Sleep and activity patterns built from those readings over time, for example from the bed monitor.
- Device information, such as which room a sensor is in, whether it is online, and its power and Wi-Fi status.
When you use the NoBlink app
- Account details, such as your name, email address and phone number. If you sign in with a third-party account such as Apple, we receive basic details from that provider.
- The contacts you add for alerts, including their names and phone numbers.
- Records of alerts and automatic calls, such as who was called, when, and whether the call was answered.
- App settings, preferences and the device information needed to send you notifications.
When you contact us or visit our website
- What you share in forms, booked calls, emails or messages, such as your name, contact details, city and details about the home.
- Usage information collected by our website tools, such as pages visited, clicks, the device and browser used, and approximate location from your IP address. See “Cookies and website tools” below.
We do not ask for health records. Some information we handle, such as a fall or a person’s activity at home, can reveal something about their wellbeing, so we treat all of it with care.
2. Why we use it
- To detect falls and long periods of stillness, and to send alerts, place automatic calls and escalate to the next contact.
- To show you activity, alerts and device status in the app.
- To install, maintain and support your sensors, and to fix problems.
- To improve how accurately NoBlink detects falls and to develop the service, using data that is de-identified wherever possible.
- To reply to enquiries, arrange calls and installations, and send service messages.
- To understand how people use our website and to measure whether our advertising works.
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and meet our legal obligations.
We process personal data on the basis of consent, which you give when you sign up, set up the service or submit a form, and for the other legitimate uses allowed under the DPDP Act. You can withdraw consent at any time. If you do, we may not be able to keep providing the service, because NoBlink cannot raise alerts without the sensor data.
3. Setting up NoBlink for someone else
Families often set up NoBlink for a parent. If you do, please tell the person whose home is protected what NoBlink does and get their agreement, or make sure you are legally authorised to act for them. The same applies to the people you add as contacts: please make sure they are happy to receive calls and alerts.
4. Who we share it with
- The people you choose. Alerts, calls and activity go to the family members, caregivers or staff added to your account.
- Service providers who help us run NoBlink, such as cloud hosting, communications (calls, SMS and app notifications), scheduling, forms, analytics and customer support. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s life or safety.
- A successor, if NoBlink is reorganised, merged or sold, subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising.
5. Where it is stored
Data from the NoBlink service is stored on Google Cloud in India. Some website tools and service providers, such as advertising, analytics and scheduling tools, may process website data outside India. Where that happens, it is limited to what those tools need, and we rely on the provider’s safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or for as long as the law requires. When you close your account, or ask us to erase your data, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you, unless we must keep certain records by law. If you want to know how long a particular kind of data is kept, write to us.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable security safeguards, including encryption of data stored on Google Cloud, access controls, and limiting staff access to people who need it to run and support the service. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you can:
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
- Ask us to correct, complete or update your data.
- Ask us to erase your data, where we no longer need it or you withdraw consent.
- Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to do so.
- Raise a grievance with us, and if you are not satisfied with our response, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email info@noblink.ai. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We will respond as quickly as we can, and within the time the law requires.
9. Cookies and website tools
Our website uses a small number of third-party tools:
- Google Ads tag, to measure whether our ads lead to enquiries. Google may also use it to show our ads to people who have visited our site.
- Hotjar, to understand how visitors use our pages, for example where they click and scroll.
- Calendly and FormGrid, when you book a call or send us your details.
- Instagram and LinkedIn, for posts embedded on our About page.
These tools may set cookies or similar technologies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage ad personalisation in your Google account. Blocking them will not stop the website from working.
10. Children
NoBlink is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 through our website or app. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
11. NoBlink is not a medical or emergency service
NoBlink is a safety and wellness monitoring service. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it does not replace emergency services. In an emergency, call 112.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as NoBlink changes or the law develops. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and where the changes are significant we will let you know through the app or by email.
